Bar replay

Bar replay software for testing strategies on historical data

Traders Casa bar replay is software for testing trading strategies candle by candle on historical market data without seeing what happens next. You can replay TradingView powered charts, place simulated trades and manage positions as the market unfolds, then keep a record of the test instead of losing the work when you close the session.

Replay the market one bar at a time

Pick a market, jump to a date and move price forward at your own pace.

Choose a market, go to the date you want to test and start replaying historical price action from that point.

The chart advances bar by bar, so you make each decision using only the information that would have been available at that moment. You can control the pace rather than waiting for a live market to produce the next setup.

Place trades as it runs

Simulated orders go in against the replayed market, with quick place to keep the test moving.

Manage the position

Take partials and close positions mid session as new candles appear, on the paid plans.

Rewind and go to date

Revisit part of a session, or start from a specific period rather than an arbitrary point.

Setup that persists

Layouts autosave, timeframes stay in sync and drawing templates are saved rather than rebuilt.

Drawing templates carry across sessions instead of being rebuilt each time.

You also have access to custom in house indicators alongside the charting tools. Markets include forex pairs and US stocks.

There is no session allowance to manage. Backtest sessions are unlimited on every Traders Casa plan, including Free. That matters when the aim is volume: instead of rationing each replay, you can keep testing until you have a sample large enough to examine properly.

The next candle stays unknown

This is the part that makes a manual scroll-back test worthless.

The main problem with manually backtesting a chart is not drawing the entry or calculating the result. It is knowing what happens next.

Scrolling backwards through a completed chart exposes future price action. Covering the right hand side can help, but it is easy to reveal more than you intended. Once you have seen the move, you cannot make the same decision as someone who had not seen it.

Hindsight bias

A setup looks obvious after you know price rallied. A questionable entry looks reasonable when you know it reached target. Trades you would have taken in real time become easy to avoid once you have already seen the reversal.

Bar replay removes that information from the decision. You see the market up to the current replay point, and the next candle is not available until you advance the session. Your entry, exit and trade management decisions therefore have to be made before the outcome is visible.

That does not make a strategy profitable, and Traders Casa does not promise that it will. It gives you a cleaner way to test your own rules without contaminating every decision with knowledge of what happened afterwards.

Because you are not waiting for live candles, you can also work through far more examples in one sitting. A strategy that would take months to observe live can be tested across a large historical sample in an evening.

How much historical data can you replay?

The data depth changes with the plan. The number of sessions never does.

Free is enough to start using the replay engine, test the workflow and begin collecting trades without paying simply to run another session.

The paid plans increase how far back you can test rather than unlocking the basic ability to keep replaying. They also lift the limits on rewind, go to date and quick place, add closing positions mid session and partials, and bring in no ads, analytics and journalling.

If your immediate requirement is bar replay software, you can start on Free and upgrade when the extra historical depth or the wider analysis features become useful.

Your backtest does not disappear when the replay ends

A session that leaves no record is an hour spent watching old candles.

Traders Casa records the test so the work does not disappear when you finish the session. Instead of completing a replay and being left with a rough memory of what happened, you keep the trades you generated during the test.

That is where replay becomes more useful than an isolated simulator. The replay engine sits inside the same application as the journalling and analytics tools, so you can move from testing a strategy to reviewing the record rather than rebuilding the information elsewhere.

Each session stays put, with its trades attached.

The distinction matters if you are trying to test a large sample. Individual trades tell you very little. A recorded set of trades gives you something you can inspect afterwards, and filter.

Who it is for

Traders Casa bar replay is for retail traders who want to test a defined trading strategy without risking money or waiting for enough live setups to appear.

It is particularly useful if your current backtesting method involves manually scrolling old charts, hiding future candles yourself or trying to build a meaningful sample from occasional live trades. If you trade forex, futures or related price action strategies and need historical practice, replay gives you a controlled way to do the work faster.

Bar replay FAQs

Is bar replay free?+

Yes. Traders Casa includes bar replay on the Free plan, with unlimited backtest sessions and six months of historical data, so you can start testing without paying for additional sessions. Basic increases historical depth to six years and Pro provides more than 20 years. Paid plans also lift the replay control limits and add no ads, analytics and journalling.

How is Traders Casa different from TradingView bar replay?+

Both let you move through historical charts without exposing future candles, and Traders Casa uses TradingView powered charts. The main difference is how replay fits the wider testing process. Traders Casa gives unlimited backtest sessions even on Free, then keeps the resulting test connected to a record that feeds into journalling and analytics.

Can I place and manage simulated trades during bar replay?+

Yes. You can place simulated orders while historical price action is replaying rather than simply watching candles print. Quick place speeds up entries and rewind lets you revisit part of a session. Closing positions mid session and taking partials sit on the paid plans, so check the pricing page for which tier you need.

Which markets can I use for bar replay?+

Traders Casa provides historical replay for forex pairs and US stocks. You select the market, move to a historical date and replay price action from there. Saved chart layouts, timeframe sync and saved drawing templates reduce the setup needed between sessions, and custom in house indicators are available alongside the charting tools.

Does bar replay tell me whether my strategy will be profitable?+

No. Bar replay does not prove that a strategy will make money, and historical results do not guarantee future results. What it does is give you a controlled testing environment: decisions made without seeing the next candle, repeated across a large number of historical trades, with a record of those tests kept afterwards.
